Hello my lovelies!
Welcome back to Cappuccinos and Cashmere, your one stop source for fashion and lifestyle posts! As you know by now, Mondays I will be posting a new outfit/fashion post and on Thursdays you be getting a lifestyle post! Today I’m sharing my first outfit post of the summer!
In the beginning of June my sister (who is also my photographer) and I went to Chicago. I had a mission, to shoot 3 looks (minimum) and to have a fun day with my sister. We always valet the car at either Gibsons or Tavern on Rush and stick around that general area. This is a much easier option as opposed to driving around the city looking for parking on the street. That my friends could take hours.
On our way into the city, we were on Ohio Street and a parking spot opened up miraculously. For at least one year I have wanted to come take a few photos in front of this flamingo wall but every time I drove past it, I couldn’t park. However, on this day we were able to get a great spot so naturally I took advantage of this rare opportunity. You know what they say, “if life gives you lemons…”
We quickly jumped out of the car and got to work. Within minutes we had taken all of the photos and got “the shot.” Then we proceeded to Rush street where we took a few more photos before going to Restoration Hardware for drinks!
My outfit was fairly simple for this perfect day in the city of Chicago. I got this cute basic white dress from Zara. I love how light weight and simple it is. There is nothing better than a basic white dress that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. These shoes were a steal, I got them at Marshalls for about $30 dollars and they are Steve Madden. My jacket is so old, its from GAP and I absolutely love it and my sunnies are Chanel. I surprisingly didn’t need the jacket but I always bring layers to Chicago even in the summer. There have been many times where I go into the city an regret not bringing some layers. Let’s just say I have learned my lesson.
What do you think of my day in Chicago? How do you like this casual outfit for the first days of summer? What are you planning on doing this summer? Let me know in the comments below! I would love to know your thoughts!
